With this in mind, you'll be presented with an assignment immediately following each volume. While following along with these lessons and building a project together will provide you with valuable knowledge, the real power comes from being able to take the techniques you've learned and apply them in a different way to your own work. We'll also talk about creating clean scenes and models and in the end, we'll have built up a solar panel array from scratch. We'll also learn about many of the different modeling tools we can use to add edges and extrusions to polygon geometry, as well as curve-based tools we can use to build NURBS models. We'll cover methods of working with primitive geometry and how to modify their initial creation options. In Volume 1 of the Quick Start to Modeling in Maya, we'll cover the basics of getting started creating your own models.
